UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say a Coldwater man was injured last night in a single car accident in Branch County. The crash happened shortly before 8:00 p.m. west of Union City in Union Township.
According to troopers, 61-year old Ronnie Holbrook of Homer was driving westbound on Tuttle Road when he lost control of his vehicle, which went off the road west of Arbogast road. The 2006 Pontiac smashed through a fence and then struck a large tree.
State Police said Holbrook and his passenger, 28-year old John Roland of Coldwater were wearing their seatbelts. Both were transported by Life Care Ambulance to Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall for treatment of their injuries.
Troopers said Holbrook was issued a ticket for driving too fast for the snow covered road conditions.
Also responding to the scene were the Union City Fire Department and Union City Village Police.
