BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Snow fell in Branch County just ten days shy of the merry month of May on Tuesday but heavier amounts of snow stayed to the south and east.
Generally between one to two inches of light, wet snow fell on Branch County from about noon until just before midnight while over three inches fell near Pittsford in Hillsdale County.
Over three inches of snow fell near Angola while between four to five inches of snow was reported in the Fort Wayne area.
Five inches of snow was measured by a National Weather Service observer at Defiance, Ohio.
A Freeze Warning remains in effect until early Thursday morning as a second night of widespread sub-freezing temperatures in the low to mid 20s are expected in northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and portions of Ohio.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
