COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coach Eby Youth and Family Center Board of Directors President Kathy Alger says the response from the community was overwhelming after a call went out for food donations Monday.
The center at the corner of Clay and Chicago Streets in Coldwater opened Monday afternoon as a warming center for the community in anticipation of the dangerously cold wind chill readings that were expected Tuesday through Thursday.
Alger says they no longer need food donations and they would like to thank everyone who helped out.
She adds the center will remain open as a warming center until temperatures moderate at the end of the week.
Meanwhile, the First Congregational Church in Union City is opening their doors as a warming station if residents need a warm place for this week’s weather.
