COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After dealing with six to eight inches of snow Monday, National Weather Service forecasters are warning that the extreme cold over the next few days could kill you if you go outside and are not dressed properly.
Dangerously cold conditions are also expected everywhere. Temperatures tonight through Thursday morning will be in the -10 to -20 range with wind chill values of -30 to -45. Frostbite can occur within minutes and everyone is encouraged to take proper precautions if going outside.
A Wind Chill Warning remains in effect for Branch, Hillsdale and Steuben Counties from 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for St. Joseph, Calhoun and Kalamazoo Counties until 1:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Additional lake effect snow amounts of four to eight inches are possible by Wednesday night in those counties with considerable blowing and drifting due to west winds gusting up to 40 mph.
