COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Bad weather forced Branch County schools to shut down once again Monday.
It marked the third time since last Wednesday that school was cancelled because of the weather conditions.
Monday’s cancellation was the fourth of the school year for Coldwater Community Schools, and with the forecast calling for historically cold temperatures this week, that total will likely go up.
Michigan law allows school districts to have six days of cancellations due to bad weather, sickness outbreaks and infrastructure problems.
Any classroom time lost beyond the six day limit must be rescheduled in order for the district to receive its full amount of State School Aid funds.
