COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals jumped out to a 22-3 first quarter lead and were never threatened as they blew out the Hastings Saxons 69-21 on Friday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium. Gage McGuire scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter. He also had three steals. Damon Beckhusen added nine points and dished out seven assists. Austin Santure grabbed seven rebounds. Eleven Cardinals got into the scorebook during the rout. Coldwater is now 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the Interstate 8.
The Quincy Orioles are still unbeaten as they romped at Springport 63-28. Will Dunn led the Orioles with 29 points and 10 rebounds. He also had five assists and four blocked shots. Matthew Hagaman added 14 points and five assists for Quincy while Jordan Nelson had eight assists. Quincy is now 12-0 overall and 8-0 in the Big 8 Conferece.
Union City got back on the right track with a 58-38 victory over Concord at McNett Fieldhouse. Larson Kever led the Chargers with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Carson Stanton had 18 points while Nolan Shafer added 10 points. The Chargers are now 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the Big 8.
And Tekonsha was able to get by Jackson Christian last night with a 64-61 victory. Anthony Lane led the Indians with 21 points while Mason Mauk had 15 points and Nick Meyer added 14 points.
