COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A man who is accused of recently approaching numerous people asking for cash was lodged in the Branch County Jail over the weekend after Coldwater Police arrested him on Friday.
Police were called after 39-year-old Clayton Brigham of Coldwater allegedly approached a woman and asked for money after he had promised District Court Judge David Coyle he would not ask for money when the judge released him last week on his own recognizance.
While he was being questioned, police say they found three-tenths of a gram of methamphetamine on Brigham.
Brigham was arraigned Friday on 2 counts of panhandling and one count of possession of meth and he remains behind bars after his bond was revoked.
A probable cause hearing in Branch County District Court is scheduled for January 29, 2019.
