MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Last night in wrestling, Coldwater split a pair of Interstate 8 dual meets on Wednesday night as they lost to Parma Western 37-24 but came back to defeat Pennfield 68-10. Going 2-0 for the Cardinals were Marshall Hoard (112), Logan Pike (119), Zeke Nowicki (130), Carter Hoard (140), Matt Gipple (160) and Dillon Minton (285).
Bronson scored a pair of Big 8 Conference wins as they defeated Union City 63-16 and Springport 35-34. Viking wrestlers who got wins against Springport were Preston Wronikowski (103), Ben Modert (112), Brendan Withington (135), Isaac Tappenden (152), Ruger Ranney (160), J.C. DePaz (171), Justin Blankenship (189) and Alex Tyer (285). Wronikowski, Modert, Ben Thomas Grate (125), Withington, Jorge Segura (135), Bryce Bucklin (145), Tappenden, Ranney, DePaz, Blankenship and Carson Rose (215) were Bronson winners in the match against Union City.
In bowling, Quincy split their Suburban Lanes match with Grass Lake as the Orioles girls won 28-2 but the boys lost 24-6. Leading the way for the Quincy girls was Senior Cassie White who shot a 428 series with 222 and 206 games. Daylin Fuller added a pair of 151s, Carlie McKinley chipped in a 151 as well as a 136. The Quincy girls welcomed back Torrance Swift after a knee injury. Swift rolled games of 137 and 161. The Quincy Boys were led by Brodie Mainstone who had games of 194 and 166. Brandt Neely had games of 177 and 135.
