COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Saturday afternoon fire damaged a two story home at 19 East Pierce in Coldwater which had been converted into apartments.
Heavy smoke and flames were reported on the second floor when the fire was called in just before 4:00 p.m..
Two engines and a ladder truck were among the units from the Coldwater Fire Department which responded.
An engine from the Quincy Fire Department was also called in.
At one point, firefighters had to chop through the roof in order to get the fire under control. It was called contained at about 4:50 p.m..
No injuries were reported. There is no word yet as to what caused the fire or how much damage there was.
East Pierce was closed to traffic while fire crews were at the scene for nearly three hours.
