Frank Edward Stolte, Jr., 80, of Coldwater, passed away peacefully in the early morning Thursday, April 22, 2021, with his loving wife Aletta by his side, after fighting a courageous, year -long battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Frank was born November 21, 1940 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Frank and Marjorie (Reynolds) Stolte, Sr. He served honorably in the US Army from 1960-1963. Frank married Aletta I. DeMond on February 12, 1966 in Coldwater. Together they have celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Mr. Stolte worked for the State of Michigan for 31 years, primarily at the Coldwater Regional Center power plant, retiring in 1991. Following his retirement, he drove motor homes all over the US for Don Ray Drive-A-Way in Decatur, IN.
Frank was a member of the Coldwater American Legion. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping and hunting both animals and mushrooms. He enjoyed playing golf and taking walks with his beloved dog “Brownie.” Frank spent many winters in warmer climates, eventually settling in to Biloxi, Mississippi. He was dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his children, most especially his grand and great grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Aletta, his children Dawn (Jason) Shilling of Quincy, Richard Stolte of Coldwater, his sisters Sue Keller of Union City, Katherine Peet of Florida, his mother-in-law Irene DeMond of Coldwater, his grandchildren Danielle (Dusty Horn) Shilling, Heather Shilling, Stephanie Shilling, Jacob Shilling, Alexandria Stolte and Samantha Stolte; his great grandchildren Madelyn & Ryker, Eleonore & Jack.
He was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Phau and Brother Richard Stolte.
