COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Friday Night Alive, the flagship program at the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center in Coldwater, is scheduled to start again this fall.
The FNA program has been shut down since March when schools closed because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Kathy Alger, the President of the youth center Board, updated the future plans for FNA when she spoke recently to a meeting of the Coldwater Noon Rotary.
Alger told Rotarians the Board has pretty much made the decision that if schools don’t reopen, Friday Night Alive will open up again anyway because the obvious need for the program remains.
Alger said the Eby Center this summer held two Friday get together events for kids which she called reconnect nights including on July 10th at the Adventure Zone. The next reconnect is scheduled for August 14th with a carnival theme in an outside tent at the Eby Center.
According to Alger, the youth center is looking for donations to purchase games for the kids to replace worn out equipment, including a new air hockey table.
