BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department is reporting its first COVID-19 related death in almost three weeks.
The 39th death of a Calhoun County resident who tested positive for COVID-19 was reported on Tuesday. It was the first death reported since July eighth.
Two more positive cases were reported on Tuesday which brought the total number since the pandemic began up to 617.
The Public Health Department has reported 34 new cases in the past week.
There have been 100 cases that required hospitalizations. Eight persons were in a Calhoun County medical care facility on Tuesday.
