BRANCH COUNTY, MI. – (WTVB) – Work on the Fenn and State Road bridges over I-69 as part of a $7.7 million Michigan Department of Transportation project in Branch County is taking longer than originally expected.
Fenn and State Roads over the interstate were originally scheduled to be shut down until July 17th.
But MDOT updated its Mi Drive map on Friday to show that the State Road bridge will be closed until August seventh while the Fenn Road bridge is now scheduled to reopen on August 14.
Whoever updated the Mi Drive map put the Fenn Road closing at the ramp from northbound I-69 to U.S. 12.
The project started in April. It involves work on 12 miles of I-69 between Girard and Otis Roads as well as the Fenn, State and Newton Road bridges.
Newton Road over I-69 was originally scheduled to be closed between August 4th to October 30th with traffic detoured onto Fiske Road, State Road and Michigan Avenue.
An MDOT spokesman that project will start once the State Road bridge reopens.
