CLEVELAND, OH (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions selected Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night.
Michigan defensive end Kwity Paye was the number 21 pick by the Indianapolis Colts.
As expected, the Jacksonville Jaguars took Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first pick.
Lawrence was widely considered to be the top pick after a standout career with the Tigers, which includes a national championship in 2019. He was 34-and-2 overall at Clemson, finishing second in Heisman Trophy voting this past season.
The draft continues today with rounds two and three, and wraps up with rounds four through seven tomorrow.
