QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say a 20-year-old Quincy area man was killed in a crash on North Ray-Quincy Road, north of Wildwood Road in Branch County’s Quincy Township.
Police say the vehicle driven by Preston Glenn Sarles was traveling northbound on North Ray-Quincy Road when the vehicle lost control while passing another vehicle and struck a power pole.
Sarles was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation, but the initial report said speed is believed to be a factor.
North Ray-Quincy Road was closed for several hours while Michigan State Police accident investigators looked into the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Quincy Fire Department, Life Care Ambulance, Branch County Victims Services, Consumers Energy, and Dutcher Funeral Home.
