QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A major Quincy employer continues to expand, with a groundbreaking ceremony for the 130,000 square foot addition to Speedrack Product’s existing 345,000 square foot building held yesterday.
Speedrack officials say as part of the expansion at 42 Cole Street in Quincy they were creating 80 new jobs. The company current employs over 250.
The expansion was assisted by a Michigan Department of Transportation economic development fund grant of over $325,000 that was used to reconstruct Church Street.
Speedrack is expanding due to increased demand.
To accommodate the expansion in Quincy, changes to their commercial vehicle access were required. Additional loading dock locations were part of the expansion.
Church Street had to be reconstructed since it was not designed to all-season standards and did not have the ability to accommodate commercial vehicles.
