QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – After a conversation on Monday with representatives from the local health department, officials with Quincy Community Schools have decided to postpone this Sunday’s graduation ceremony until Sunday, August 2.
The health department stated that outdoor gatherings are still limited to 100 people in the region, and with parents, students and school staff in attendance, the district would easily exceed that limit.
In addition, several counties in the area have seen significant increases in positive COVID-19 cases, with more increases being anticipated in the weeks to come.
Superintendent Marc Kramer hopes that restrictions will be eased enough to allow the commencement ceremony to be conducted on August 2 with at least parents and students in attendance.
