COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education selected CSM Group out of Kalamazoo as the construction manager for the renovation project at the Branch Area Careers Center during a special meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Business Manager Diane Shiery said 13 firms submitted proposals.
Four finalists were selected and interviewed by a committee on June 22.
It was then narrowed down to two firms and Superintendent Kris Jenkins performed reference checks on both of them.
The Committee then recommended CSM Group be awarded the project.
The company’s web site said CSM Group is a firm with national experience managing projects of all sizes since their inception in 1983,
The estimated cost of the project is just under $4.8 million.
The work would involve renovation of the mezzanine as well as the culinary arts kitchen and lab, including the Branch House. Expansion work will also take place.
