The project on 2-point-8 acres of land is being backed by Gates Prime Commercial Group.
Construction would cost about $4.5 million and would consist of five two-story buildings with eight units in each building.
The site is presently vacant and is zoned A-3 Multi-Family Residential.
Among the contingency items approved called for the applicant submit a full set of stormwater management plans which meets the City’s ordinances and standards.
In other business, a site plan submitted by Coldwater Leisure, LLC to build a 2,300 square foot addition to the existing JT’s Billiard Bar and Grill at 50 East Chicago was approved by the Planning Commission.
City Planner Dean Walrack said in his report that the new addition will be constructed where there is a seasonal outdoor dining area next to South Hudson Street. It will contain a pizza oven and second kitchen, additional restrooms and dining seating.
Building plans will have to be approved by the city at a later time. The business is expected to add eight employees following the expansion.
One of the contingencies called for the exterior elevation is found to be suitable by the Coldwater Downtown Historic District Commission.
