CONSTANTINE, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers were swept by Constantine in a baseball doubleheader on Saturday by scores of 9-4 and 7-2.
After falling behind 5-1 in the opener, the Chargers scored three runs in the fourth to cut the Falcons lead to 5-4 but Constantine scored three insurance runs in the last of the sixth.
Connor Elgan had two hits and two RBI’s for the Chargers in the first game.
Union City was held to three hits in the second game which was shortened to five innings.
The doubleheader loss left the Chargers with a record of 7-5.
