COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With fiber being strung up across Coldwater, the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors Wednesday approved the establishment of rates for fiber service
For the Fiber To The Premise project, there would be an initial monthly residential rate of $59.99 and a business rate of $79.99. Customers may require special installation or additional equipment which will be billed on an individual case basis.
In addition to the monthly rates, there would be a Managed WIFI service for $4.99 per month.
As part of updating fiber service which was first offered in Coldwater in 1997, gig internet speed would be offered to all Coldwater B.P.U. customers.
In the introductory rate, there will be one service level and each customer will pay a flat rate.
Meanwhile, the board approved a change in the B.P.U.’s Rules, Rates and Regulations after it was mentioned during last month’s meeting that the CBPU Zwas going to stop charging convenience fees associated with credit card payments on residential utility accounts. In addition, all credit card costs would now be included in administrative expenses.
Final adoption will have to be made by the Coldwater City Council.
