COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Sunday a fourth person in Saint Joseph County has died after testing positive for COVID-19.
That brought the death toll related to the virus in the jurisdiction up to 31 with 25 of the deaths in Hillsdale County and two deaths in Branch County.
Saint Joseph County has had the most amount of cases in the three counties with 269 since the pandemic began. There have been 243 cases in Branch County and 182 cases in Hillsdale County.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported on Sunday 252 new cases which brought the total number of confirmed cases to 63,261 with 51,099 persons recovering from the virus so far.
The four deaths reported by the state on Sunday brought the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Michigan up to 5,911.
