COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After approving three marijuana related agenda items on Monday night, the Coldwater Planning Commission made a pair of requests to the City Council to put a 90 day moratorium on any new marijuana grow facilities and retail marijuana outlets in the city’s industrial area.
Mayor Tom Kramer brought the matter up after so much time was spent on potential odor problems from a proposed grow facility on Industrial Avenue and a recreational marijuana processing facility on Butters Avenue.
City Attorney Megan Angell says the request would not affect action already taken by the Planning Commission.
Both motions passed 8-1 with Commission member Jessika Cole voting no both times.
