FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A motorcyclist was injured over the weekend on State Road 120 near Snow Lake.
The Indiana State Police say the crash took place at about 8:00 p.m. on Saturday night.
A Trooper found 33-year-old David Mourey Junior of Yoder, Indiana laying on the ground off of the road and being tended to by several people who were passing by.
Mourey was stabilized and transported by Steuben County E.M.S. personnel from the scene to a helicopter landing area.
The Parkview Samaritan helicopter flew Mourey to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. At last report, he was listed in critical condition.
Indiana State Police say an initial investigation showed that Mourey failed to negotiate a curve.
His motorcycle went off the road and that there was no evidence of braking or an attempt to correct. Mourey and the motorcycle came to rest about 95 yards from the road.
They add Mourey was not wearing a helmet and nor was he properly licensed to operate a motorcycle in Indiana. The crash remains under investigation.
