HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Two persons were injured in a pair of Hillsdale County crashes on Tuesday.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says the first crash took place at about 2:00 p.m. on South Hillsdale Road north of East Card Road as a school bus was stopped nearby. Deputies report 40-year-old Angela Payne of Jonesville was able to avoid a car stopped for the bus but ran off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle then overturned.
Payne was wearing her seat belt and was taken by the Reading Emergency Unit to Hillsdale Hospital.
The second crash took place at about 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday evening when according to the Sheriff’s Department, 30-year-old Brittany Walker of Hillsdale was traveling west on Lilac Road east of South Edon Road when she swerved to miss a deer.
Walker lost control, went off the road, ran over a fence and hit an embankment. This caused her vehicle to overturn several times and come to rest lying on its roof. Deputies say she was not wearing her seat belt and sought her treatment for injuries sustained.
