COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday morning that there were over 25 applications submitted for the open 911 Directors position.
The deadline for applications was April 26.
Norman said during a power point presentation there went applications from Branch County.
There were also about the same amount of applications from the surrounding area.
Norman said the number of applications from outside of Michigan consisted of about eight to ten percent of the total.
He said the next step is to have the screening committee look at all of the applications and get the field down to about a dozen for interviews.
Norman said the screening committee was pleased with the number of applications and they are still going through them.
Whoever is selected will be Kurt Spalding’s successor. He retired last September after over 35 years of service. Assistant 911 Director Jean Ratkowski has been serving as the interim director.
