MARSHALL, MI (WTVB/WNWN) – The Midwest’s longest-running home tour will not be held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizers have cancelled the Marshall Historic Home Tour that was scheduled for September 12 and 13.
The event was first held in 1964. Marshall Historical Society President George Whelan said the executive committee made the decision after assessing the risks involved to vistoris, homeowners and volunteers.
The event annually includes tours of six to eight private homes, local museums, a downtown business building and a downtown-area church.
Other events include a arts and craft fair.
No decision has been made yet about the fate of this year’s Marshall Candlelight Walk which is scheduled for December 12 and 13.
The Honolulu House Museum as well as Marshall Historical Museum both remain closed.
