COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – You may get two or more absentee ballot applications in the mail but you only have to fill out one if you want to vote absentee.
The City of Coldwater recently mailed all registered voters an absentee ballot application for the August and November elections.
City Clerk Sue Heath told the Coldwater City Council on Tuesday night they did that on the same day the State of Michigan chose to send out ballot applications to every registered voter in the State.
Heath said a lot of clerks were caught blindsided by this. Any application for an absentee ballot is usable, you don’t have to turn all of them in.
It’s not known yet if in person voting will take place in August or November because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
