CLIMAX, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls softball team posted a pair of one-hit shutouts as they took both ends of a non-conference doubleheader from Climax-Scotts on Thursday by scores of 16-0 and 11-0.
Mia Rzepka was the winning pitcher in the opening game as she struck out six and allowed only one hit in the five inning game.
She was backed by a 15-hit attack and a tight defense which only committed one error. Rzepka had three hits including two triples. Alyssa Bach, Jayla Foster, Alexis Bills and Riley Rice all had two hits. Rice and Morgan Dancer both had doubles.
Bills was the winning pitcher in the second game as she tossed a one-hitter and struck out nine.
Coldwater’s bats were sizzling in the second game as they picked up 14 hits and did not have any errors. Rzepka and Foster both had three hits while Rzepka and Bach both drove in three runs.
Coldwater is now 9-9 overall.
The Coldwater JV softball team was swept by Jonesville on Thursday 29-23 and 24-4.
