ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A teenager was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured by an overturned lawnmower on Memorial Day.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department responded to the accident at the 23000 block of River Run Road in Nottawa Township at 10:45 a.m. pm on May 25th.
Officers found a 14-year-old male from Sturgis who was mowing a steep embankment when their lawnmower overturned, impaling the victim on the roll bat of the mower.
The victim was transported by Aircare to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Lifecare Ambulance, Michigan State Police, and the Centreville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
