BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service has placed Branch County under a Flood Advisory until 3:00 p.m. this afternoon while Calhoun and Kalamazoo Counties are under a Flood Warning until 3:15 p.m..
Doppler radar and rain gauge reports just before 9:00 a.m. indicated that moderate to heavy rain has fallen across the area.
Heavy rain will likely continue into the afternoon with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible, which will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
The M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm west of Coldwater measured 54-hundrenths of an inch of rain between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
Over an inch-and-a-half of rain has been recorded at that location since mid morning on Sunday.
