COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday night’s electronic City Council meeting that the contractor for the Lofts at Milnes Plaza project is scheduled to resume work on the building next week.
It was one of the construction projects halted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Baker says the restoration of the sidewalk and alley behind the businesses on U.S. 12 that back up to the Milnes parking lot is scheduled to start this week.
Parrish Excavating is the contractor for the underground utility work, parking lot, alley and sidewalk.
In addition, Parrish Excavating is also the contractor for this year’s Sidewalk Replacement Project. Baker says work is scheduled to begin on the repair and replacement of concrete sidewalks in the first and second wards this week. Work is expected to start on Perkins Street between Division Street and South Hudson Street. Traffic will be maintained in those neighborhoods where work is underway but residents are asked to be cautious.
Baker also says after much delay due to weather and then the shutdown, work is set to begin this week on the completion of drainage improvements along Lucky Drive. Parrish Excavating is the contractor for that project as well.
Work on the Allen Avenue Reconstruction Project is also set to resume. Final grading, restoration and asphalt paving still have to be done. Thompson Construction is the contractor for the Allen Avenue project.
