COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Women who are battling substance abuse will soon have a place to turn to in Branch County.
Damascus Road Ministries is announcing the opening of the Freedom Recovery Center which will be Coldwater’s first Women’s Residential Treatment Center.
It will be fully staffed with Credentialed Addiction Counselors and is slated to open in early May.
Damascus Road Ministries Executive Director Randy Leviton says Freedom Recovery Center will feature evidence-based programs for addiction to opioids such as heroin, alcohol and other drugs.
Leviton says research indicates that there is a strong demand for comprehensive community-based treatment in Branch County.
Damascus Road Ministries has worked with hundreds of men in the community over the last 18 years.
After the women’s treatment center opens, a second residential treatment facility for men will be planned.
The existing men’s substance abuse halfway house will continue to operate.
