COLDWATER (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported four new COVID-19 cases in Branch County on Wednesday which brought the county’s total number of cases since the outbreak began up to 57.
Seven new Branch County cases have been reported over the last two days with 15 cases reported over the last week.
The C.H.A. says the number of positive cases in the tri-county jurisdiction as of 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday included 30 cases in St. Joseph County and 122 cases in Hillsdale County.
There have been 17 deaths in Hillsdale County with 11 being reported at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.
The facility reported on its Facebook page that three residents were discharged from the isolation unit on Wednesday and have surpassed 21 days since their diagnosis. Out of an abundance of caution, the facility will be providing an additional seven days of universal precaution isolation for those residents who are discharged from the isolation unit.
Six more residents have exceeded the 21 day post diagnosis mark and will be discharged from the isolation unit in the days ahead.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department says there have been a total of 219 confirmed cases since the outbreak began. Of the 55 hospitalizations, 18 are still being treated in a Calhoun County facility. Officials say 112 persons have been released from isolation while another 97 are out of quarantine.
