BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that a resurfacing project will take place on U.S. 12 between the Branch-St. Joseph County line and the east side of Bronson starting on Monday.
The work was scheduled to be done last fall but the cold weather forced the project to be pushed back until the spring.
It’s estimated the $2-point-1 million project will be done by June 12th, 2020.
Crews will be resurfacing a six-and-a-half mile portion of U.S. 12 between Saint Joseph Road and Wayne Street.
The work will include sidewalk ramp upgrades and new pavement markings.
One lane of U.S. 12 will be open in each direction. Drivers should be alert for single lane closures with traffic regulators during the course of the project.

MDOT says this road construction project is an essential function. Transportation workers in the field follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines to limit their risk of getting sick.
