BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are calling two suspicious deaths reported at a Battle Creek veteran’s home a double homicide.
The Battle Creek Police Department says that two men were found dead on Sunday at Silver Star Apartment Complex, a subsidized community for former service members.
Around 4:30 p.m. a resident found the two, 62-year-old Fred Bissel and 41-year-old Jason Dush, deceased at the location.
Investigators say the two were not roommates at the time of the incident, but they believe both had been friends at some point.
Responding officers found signs of struggle at the scene, but it is currently unclear what led to the deaths.
