BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Governor Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order has put a stop to what are considered to be non-essential construction projects.
One of the projects that is considered non-essential is the new Farmer’s Market Pavilion in Bronson.
City Manager Brandon Mersman says in his report for Monday’s Bronson City Council meeting that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the governor’s Executive Order, all non-essential construction and permitting is postponed.
The original plan was for the pavilion to be completed prior to the start of the Farmer’s Market season but work will have to wait until the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order is lifted.
The order will be in effect until at least April 30, 2020.
The Council approved a $35,000 bid from Dan Hershberger Construction for work on the new Farmer’s Market Pavilion last month.
