UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – One of Branch County’s Memorial Day traditions will not take place this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials for the annual Union City Memorial Day Parade announced on Thursday that out of an abundance and caution for veterans and community members, this year’s parade has been cancelled.
The Union City parade on Memorial Day is one of the largest ones in the area as it starts at the Union City High School parking lot and travels through the downtown area before it ends at Riverside Cemetery.
This year’s parade was scheduled to take place on May 25, 2020.
It’s put on every year by the Village of Union City and the Union City Chamber of Commerce.
