COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved the future scheduling of a public hearing to allow for comments on proposed amendments to the Branch County Memorial Airport Zoning ordinance Friday afternoon.
The 13-page ordinance was adopted in 1972 and amended in 2002.
Airport Manager Joe Best said during Tuesday’s work session that the amendments to the ordinance have been reviewed by the law firm of Foster and Swift as well as the Michigan Department of Transportation aeronautics division.
Best said Tuesday the amendments clear up the ordinance language and have nothing to do with the wind turbine controversy in northwest Branch County.
Commission Chair Ted Gordon said the public hearing will take place sometime after COVID-19 outbreak quiets down and things get back to normal.
