COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Thursday provided protective materials to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital and the Coldwater Police Department, as local officials are joining forces in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The school system donated to the hospital more than 3,000 surgical masks from the district, as well as 2,300 medical exam gloves from the Coldwater High School science department.
The Coldwater Police Department was given 20 containers of antiseptic wipes for officers to use to cleanse their squad cars after they come in contact with people while making arrests or in other interactions with the public.
There is a serious shortage across the nation of protective gear for doctors, nurses, and other hospital workers, and for public safety personnel from police and fire departments to 911 responders.
