COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted during their work session Tuesday to bring forward to Friday’s meeting a series of interim county policies that would deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The policies cover employee leave, meetings, business and employee travel, as well as essential services.
The employee leave policy defines emergency leave provided to Branch County employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. It calls for the county to provide leave pay for all regular full and part time employees at their current rate of pay if the employee is told not to come to work or if they are sent home if they diagnosed with COVID-19.
The business travel policies call for Branch County employees to not go outside of the county unless they have permission from their department head. Another travel policy during the COVID-19 pandemic calls for county employees to get approval from a physician or be quarantined for at least 14 days if they travel to a county that has at least 25 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
