NORTH WEBSTER, MI. – (WTVB) – The National Weather Service says the first round of severe spring weather could take place Thursday afternoon and evening although it’s a marginal threat in Branch County and the surrounding area.
Forecasters say a frontal system will bring a couple rounds of showers and storms. One is expected to take place in the afternoon, followed by a second round later in the evening into the overnight hours.
The second round of storms could potentially be strong to severe, especially across northern Indiana later Thursday night.
According to the National Weather Service, the threat of isolated, damaging wind gusts is the greatest concern.
Temperatures are expected get into the 60s before a sharp cold front sweeps across the region Friday morning and drops the mercury into the 30s and 40s by the afternoon.
