COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Homeowners who are two years behind in paying their property taxes will get some extra time to pay up because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has authorized and Branch County Circuit Court Judge Bill O’Grady has signed an amendment to the original foreclosure order extending the foreclosure date by two months.
The last day to pay 2017 taxes in order to avoid foreclosure is now May 29, 2020.
The original date was March 31, 2020.
The action was taken under the Michigan Emergency Management Act.
