COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – With Governor Whitmer ordering a three week closing of all K-12 schools in the State of Michigan because of the spread of the coronavirus starting on Monday, the Browne Aquatic Center in Coldwater in turn will be closed from 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon until at least 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23rd.
Aquatic Director Buzz Sharpley says as of now, it will be on a week to week basis if the center is open. He says they will keep in communication with all of their members and guests.
Sharpley says all planned activities, lessons and events from 4:00 p.m. on Sunday through 6:00 a.m. on the 23rd are cancelled. Any active memberships will be frozen until the time they are back to normal operations.
Members and guests are encouraged to follow the recommended guidelines concerning the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Robert W. Browne Recreation Center will be closed and all City of Coldwater Recreation Department sponsored scheduled activities are cancelled for the next three weeks until Sunday, April 5th due to concerns and recommendations regarding COVID-19.
