QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The occupants of two vehicles that were involved in a rear end crash Thursday morning at the intersection of U.S. 12 and Briggs Road escaped with minor injuries according to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
They say the crash happened at about 6:15 a.m. The intersection was closed for over an hour as the accident was investigated and cleaned up.
According to the department’s preliminary investigation, a passenger car driven by 24-year-old Kathleen Dobbs of Quincy was traveling east on US.12. The other vehicle driven by 33-year-old Jesse French of Battle Creek was also heading east on US 12 and was stopped to make a left hand turn onto Briggs Road.
The Dobbs’ vehicle was unable to stop and collided with the back of French’s vehicle.
Sheriff Deputies investigation shows seat belts were used. Only the two drivers had minor injuries and the small children were properly restrained resulting in no injuries to them.
Sheriff Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Quincy Fire Department, Life Care Ambulance and the Michigan State Police.
