COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Terri Huffman was named Citizen of the Year during the 67th Annual Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce Awards dinner at the Dearth Community Center on Thursday night.
Her nomination was submitted by Kate Gordon who said Huffman motivates and inspires others in volunteerism. She is instrumental in the operation of the Branch Area Food Pantry and has organized the Branch Area Lions Club.
Gordon added that it was was Huffman’s passion that brought alive the Lights of Love project.
Rachel Hard who is the On The Job Training Coordinator at the Branch Area Careers Center was presented with the Educator of the Year award. She has been in education for over 30 years
The Business of the Year award was presented to Quincy Collision.
Other awards went to the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence for Outstanding Organization or Community Program and to Colleen Knight for Outstanding Public Servant Professional.
The event also marked the official leadership transition for the chamber board with Dannielle McRae from Lilah’s Bridal taking over as President from Paul Plant from Taylor, Plant and Watkins.
