JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles captured a Division Four girls high school bowling regional championship Friday at Jax 60 Lanes in Jackson.
Meanwhile, both Bronson squads managed to finish in the top three as they joined the Quincy girls in qualifying for next week’s MHSAA Finals at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing.
Quincy finished first in the girls regional with 3,414 pins followed by East Jackson with 3,290 and Bronson with 3,245. The Vikings defeated Hanover-Horton by 88 pins for the last spot to advance to the state finals.
Only 28 pins seperated the top three teams in the boys regionals. After six baker games and three regular games, Vandercook Lake won the regional title by just three pins over Bronson, 3,557 to 3,554. Homer was third with 3.529 pins as they beat out Quincy by 102 pins for the last state finals spot.
