NORTH WEBSTER, IN. – The National Weather Service office in northern Indiana has released the final snowfall totals from the storm system that passed through the area on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Between six and eight inches of snow was reported in the southern part of Branch County as well as the northeastern part of the county.
Four to six inches of snow was reported in most of the northern half of Branch County.
The greatest total of nine inches was observed outside of Angola, Indiana.
The National Weather Service reported that the earliest snowfall forecasts were too high in some locations, but this was in relation to the best data available at the time.
The afternoon forecast prior to when a majority of the snow began to fall proved to be within two inches of the observed snow amounts at a majority of locations.
