MARSHALL, MI. – (WTVB) – A veteran Michigan State Police trooper who has served Branch County for many years is now retired.
Trooper Michael Thyng signed off for the final time after being on the job for over 30 years at the end of his shift at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
Numerous other law enforcement and first responders then wished him the best as he headed into retirement.
Thyng’s last shift was mostly routine. His last entry on the Branch County 9-1-1 log was for a slide off accident at 7:30 a.m..
