COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Sturgis man who entered guilty pleas to a pair of drug charges was sentenced on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
26-year-old Joshus Thomas Summey pled guilty to being in possession of a controlled substance under 25 grams and operating a motor vehicle with the presence of a controlled substance.
He was given a 10 month jail sentence with 111 days credit for time already served. Summey was placed of probation for two years and ordered to pay over $1,400 in restitution.
He was arrested in November at Dove’s Landing by the Michigan State Police.
In exchange for his guilty pleas, prosecutors dismissed charges of domestic violence, unlawful driving away of an automobile, assault with a dangerous weapon and driving with a suspended license. An habitual offender sentencing enhancer was also be dismissed.
